On Wednesday, 18 October there will be a Masterclass for upcoming scholars (esp. PhD candidates and postdocs) on Peter van der Veer’s new book The Value of Comparison (Duke University Press, 2016). Together with the author, participants will discuss problems related to limitations and possibilities of comparison in the study of religion on the basis of the book.

• Time: 10.00-15.00; Lunch is included;
• Participation is free, but admission required. Participants are required to study the book before the Masterclass, and to apply for admission. Please send a CV and a letter of motivation including information about your research and how it relates to matters of comparison to Christoph Baumgartner: C.Baumgartner@uu.nl before 15 September.
